Tweetie for Mac is out! Tweetie features a gorgeous UI, intuitive keyboard shortcuts, and powerful ways to manage multiple accounts. My only nit-picky request is for a better way to save searches. There is an early adopter’s price of $14.99 (going up to $19.95 on May 4) and a free version supported by Fusion Ads.
It also features a pathetically small (and hidden), “New Tweet” button. That seems like a foresight. Sure, you can set a universal hotkey, but it’s off by default and not known to the user unless he/she opens the preferences. The idea that someone might buy this and not figure out how to post a tweet is ridiculous.
I bought it regardless. I love hotkeys. So for me, this isn’t a big deal, but I imagine it will be for less-savvy users.
Actually I have another gripe. Why the fuck is Global Search a sub item for each account. It suggests that it just searches within the given account. This feels like it should be in the top-right of the app at all times, along with a permanent POST TWEET button.
Dragging images into a new tweet window is genius.
