[Professor shows M.I.A's music video "Paper Planes"]
[Awkward silence in which students are expecting her to explain why the fuck we just watched this video]
Prof:

Idiotic First Year Girl Wanting to Impress Teacher:

[Awkward Silence; I put my face into my hands]
Idiotic First Year Girl Wanting to Impress Teacher:
"Like, the sandwiches represent umm... like the drug trade cause she talks about money....and is from Sri Lanka.....and she makes sandwiches..."
Prof:

Prof:
Mmmm, wonderful points, anyone else?
Me (Authors Note):
After only a few classes, I have grown to dislike the fact that I have to take a 2nd first year English Class. The above passage occurred today and reminded me why I disliked the study of English in the first place.
My name is Luke Seeley and I’m a twentysomething Canadian living in New York City where I design interfaces for a living. On my free time I enjoy films, comics, food, espresso, and running.
