In Canada, non-animal protein is affordable and plentiful and the mass
production of animal protein seems to involve an increasing risk to
human health. Should we become vegetarians? Why or why not?
Currently, under Canadian Law, an individual who wants to die can
commit suicide or refuse treatment necessary for life. He or she cannot,
however, be assisted in committing suicide. Anyone who aids or counsels
a person to commit suicide is, whether or not suicide actually ensues,
guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment up to fourteen
years. Should the law be revised to allow for assisted suicide? Why or
why not?
When the U.S. Government asked for military help from its friend and
neighbour, Canada, to invade Iraq, the Canadian government declined.
Should the Government of Canada have supported the American
government in the latter’s decision to invade Iraq? Why or why not?
