iPhone hacked to work outside US with Vodafone...
Guy bought US iPhone, removed AT&T SIM, put it in old cell phone, took it to Vodafone store and added it to his contract (replacing phone currently on the contract & using the AT&T SIM). He then took it home, popped the SIM, put it back in iPhone, used iASign to activate. Results: UK Phone number, Vodafone contract. May possibly work in any country (via News dugg by lseeley)
iPhone Partially Unlocked, Calls Without AT&T...
The amazing wizards at the iPhone Dev Wiki have been able to partially unlock the iPhone using a new application called iASign. It won’t fully unlock the iPhone, but the hack will allow you to use any existing Cingular/AT&T Pre-paid SIM so you don’t have to get a contract with AT&T.
